Can I book for a physio 121 assessments?
Unfortunately I am a busy mum of two and work part-time in the NHS. Currently I am not seeing patients for just 121 outside of my NHS work. However, I will help you to access local NHS or private services should you need/want to have further assessment.
How many sessions are in a block?
Each block consist of 6 x 50minute classes. These generally run in line with term times.
What shall I wear to class?
Classes are physically active so be sure to wear something comfortable that you can easily move in. Sometimes it helpful to have layers to remove as you warm up. Please wear socks for the class.
Do I need to bring any equipment?
All equipment needed for class is provided by us. This includes mats, magic circles, resistance bands, Pilates balls, weights, head blocks and anything else we may choose to use in class. We understand that some people prefer to use their own mat and this is also fine.
I have never exercised before can I still come to class?
Absolutely! it's never too late to start moving your body. All exercises have different levels and we can modify exercises if needed. All clients will need to complete a health screening beforehand to double check suitability for exercise so we can keep you safe.
I don’t have any symptoms of pelvic health issues (prolapse, leaking wee or poo etc) can I still come to class?
Yes, PREVENTION is always better than cure! You don't have to be experiencing symptoms to benefit from taking charge of your pelvic health. Come join us and learn about your body and how to look after your pelvic health.
Are the classes for women only?
My specialist knowledge is currently in the management of issues arising with the female anatomy. This may include those who do not identify as female but were born with female anatomy. There certainly is a role of pelvic health physiotherapy for men (or those born with male anatomy) but this currently isn't my specialism therefore we are unable to offer this service to men. But we hope it is something we can offer in the future.
Can I cancel the course if I need to?
All course fees are paid in advance to secure your booking. We understand that sometimes there may be reasons why you need to cancel the course. Our cancellation policy is as follows
If you advise us you are unable to attend within:
Do I have to complete the pre-exercise questionnaire?
It is really important to understand your current health status and pre-existing health conditions so we can make sure you are safe to exercises. Therefore screening is compulsory before commencing exercise with us.
Our questionaire also includes screening for pelvic floor issues. Our screening also covers your obstetric and gynaecological history (whether you have had children, type of birth you had and your recover, any previous gynaecological issues/surgeries). I think it's also important for us to understand your goals so we can personalise your journey as best as possible for you.
Can I bring my baby to the post-natal class?
We appreciate that finding childcare arrangements to prioritise yourself can be challenging! Babies are welcome to join class until crawling. Alternatively if you prefer to come without your little ones so you can concentrate on you then this is also great! Parents are responsible for the care of their own children during class.
What if I can’t make a session?
Building strength and making changes take time and consistency. I encourage you to try to make a commitment to your health and set aside time for yourself. We are unable to refund or re-book missed sessions during the block.
